Lindsay

Lindsay is one of the three victims in the Human Centipede (First Sequence). She is the middle of the centipede and is potrayed by Ashley C.Williams.

Biography

Lindsay and her friend Jenny are a pair of New Yorkers that have traveled to Germany on a road trip. She agrees to go to a party when Jenny is invited by a handsome waiter. However, on the way Lindsay runs over a sharp surface which flattens her tire. With no reception, they are unable to call for help. Whilst waiting in her car, they are approached by a local man. Lindsay immediately tries to ask him for help but he assumes they are adult film actresses and makes sly comments. When noticing this, Lindsay rolls down her window and ignores him before he drives off. Lindsay then convinces Jenny to get out of the car and look for help but they end up soon lost before Lindsay spots the house of Doctor Josef Heiter.

In his house she asks him to call the emergency car service which he complies while asking them if they want something to drink and they accept water. However, he doses the drinks with rypnol. Lindsey angers the doctor by spilling her drink before she can drink it completely and he passes her a towel to clean it up while she shares with Jenny. Jenny soon succumbs to the affects of the drug and passes out. Trying to wake her, Lindsay is imformed by Heiter about what he did. She begins to weaken and tries to crawl away but the doctor holds her up by the hair, keeping her still with his leg before passing her out with a needle to the neck.

She then walks up alongside Jenny in Heiter's makeshift ward in his basement where she witnesses him kill another captive, claiming he doesn't match. Woken up a second time now alongside a new Japanese captive, Katsuro. Lindsay and the others are imformed that they will be sewned together mouth to anus to form a "human centipede".

Just as the doctor is sedating the other "patients", Lindsey chews off the belts tying her hands to the bed, But, as she tries to run away, the IV tube attached to her arm is pulled off, wounding her arm and alerting the doctor. She quickly runs from the basemnet up to Heiter's house where she locks herself in his room as all the exits are barred off. Heiter comes and Lindsey pleads for him to release them but he just threatens to preform the surgery on her without any anesthesia if she does not open the door in his room. She tries to escape out of a glass wall but by the time she draws the curtain, the doctor is there behind the wall, armed with a rifle. She quickly ecsapes, finding the key hidden in his room just as he breaks through the glass, She runs but accidentally falls into his pool. Heiter arrives and assures her that his gun is only a sedation rifle. As punishment for her escape attempt he comdemns her to be the middle part of the centipede, as she would feel the most pain, She says she'd rather be dead so the doctor activates his pool's cover that reels in over the water, effectively drowning her. Left with no option she sinks herself under the cover and fortunately for her the power goes out, stopping the automatic cover. As the doctor leaves to fix it, she comes from under the cover and returns to the basement. She sees a telephone, but chooses not to use it as it could alert the doctor and may come accros a langauge barrier. She drags an unconscious Jenny out as well as apologising to Katsuro. Just as she gets Jenny out of the house, out through the glass wall that the doctor destroyed, she fails when the doctor shoots her with a tranquilizer dart from afar.

He then operates on them, holding his word by placing Lindsay inbetween Katsuro and Jenny with her mouth attached to Katsuro's anus and Jenny's mouth to her's. During her time as the human centipede, she is forced to swallow Katsuro's defecation, which quickly causes her to become constipated. After several days in the doctor's house, Katsuro attempts to escape and Lindsay eagerly follows through, acting as the brain in the centipede by turning her head and pointing to get Katsuro's attention. She leads him to the doctor's room having previously been there but finds that the glass wall has been replaced so she prompts Katsuro to use a lamp to smash it open. As he tries, the doctor arrives, injured from an attack from Katsuro. Katsuro in the encounter commits suicide, leaving Lindsey and Jenny incapacitated. Detective Franz then enters the room to find the doctor's captives and Lindsay begs him to help him. He however, sets out to find the doctor but ends up being killed, though killing the doctor in response. Jenny then dies from an infection she gained and Lindsay holds her hand in desperation.

Alone with her deceased fellow captives, the living Lindsay sobs, unable to escape and her fate left unknown.

Trivia

• It is said Lindsay's fate will be revealed in The Human Centipede III (Final Sequence).
• While it is unconfirmed what Lindsay's exact fate is, she is the only character who appears in the film that is still alive by its immediate end. 
• She appears at the beginning of The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) which began where the first film ended but she is only a fictional character within the first Human Centipede film being viewed on crazed fan Martin Lomax's laptop, so her fate is not addressed as the second film isn't a direct sequel.
